For sale we have this Champion/Student model lap steel guitar in very good vintage condition. Ready to play or as a collectable, it's a nice one.
The Champion/Student model was produced between 1949 and 1955 when it was discontinued and replaced with the Champ Steel Guitar. This instrument has the yellow pearloid covering still in very good condition after 70ish years. The hardware all appears to be period correct, with patina and mild corrosion in areas. The pot codes are obscured by solder, with blue ink stamp (typical of Clarostat) on the tone pot, black ink stamp on volume pot (?), and Astron tone cap. The Kluson Deluxe tuners may have had the buttons replaced based on their condtion. This instrument has domed knurled knobs and Phillips-head screws, which were introduced in 1952 when the guitar was listed as the 'Student' model according to Ghrun's Guide.
