For sale we have this unique Epiphone Demon V player. The Demon was a short lived part of the 'E Series', built in Korea and produced between 2001/2002. It features a modified V-shaped solid hardwood body with a shorter lower wing (aka Randy Rhodes style), a bolt on slim taper maple neck with Explorer style headstock, 2 humbuckers, and a tune-o-matic style bridge with strings anchored through the body. Several references say there were only 1000 of these produced.
The scarf-jointed hard maple bolt-on neck has a slim-taper profile with satin finish, and an Indian rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays. Neck is 1-11/16" wide at the new luthier-made bone nut. The explorer style headstock has 6 in-a-row tuners which all function properly, with one of them missing the back gear cover. The frets have near all their life left, showing negligible wear. This is a comfortable, fast neck. Scale is 24.75".
The solid body is finished in metallic blue, with a number of marks and chips which we have tried to capture in the pictures. None of the cosmetic imperfections affect playability or performance.
Electronics consist of 2 E-Series Ultra-Hot pickups with engraved covers, with 1 volume control, 1 tone control, and a 3-way switch. Black speed knobs are a good look with the chrome and blue finish.
The guitar come with a Gibson/USA case. The case has the lock clasp/tab removed and placed in the string pouch, perhaps a prior owner lost the combination. All other latches and hardware are good. It has the interior pink slip cover common with these cases. There are a number of dings and marks on the case.
This Demon is a neat looking, nice playing unique guitar that is ready to rock. The guitar weighs in at 5.8 pounds on our scale here.
